The World & Harvard on Tilt:
Reflections on Challenges at Harvard
Thursday, March 20
6:00 pm Networking cocktails (cash bar)
7:00 pm Presentation
Join us for a lively conversation of topical interest with Harvard Head Polo Coach Crocker Snow AB '61 and interlocutor Miguel Sancho AB ‘92 as they reflect on the critical issues pummeling Harvard and the path forward.
As a longtime international journalist, Crocker Snow has had a front-row seat to the immense pressures and challenges affecting the world order recently, and particularly how Harvard has been gripped since the Hamas raid on Israel in October 2023. The university's response has been widely criticized, and its leadership is still grappling with the reverberations.
He will share how the influence of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies and Title IX regulations have had a profound—and at times, damaging—impact, not only on the university as a whole but also on specific areas like the Polo Team. The effects of these pressures have been felt keenly, and for Coach Snow, the consequences have been significant.
However, Crocker is pleased to share that the Team is beginning to emerge from these challenges and is navigating toward smoother waters.
The last chapters of his memoir "Swamp Yankee Adventures" titled 'World on Tilt' and 'Boiling Frog' focus on the disarray of the world order and climate change which he sees as the most critical issues for mankind today.
