Harvard Month of Service

Learn about HANDY

April is Harvard's Month of Service and this year the Harvard Club of Broward County is extending this month into early May.  Check out the following events and get involved in serving your community:

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell and West Point alumni in Broward County are joining forces to help HANDY (Helping Abused, Neglected, Disadvantaged Youth) expand its services. HANDY has achieved a 95% high school graduation rate and serves 1300 youth each year. Of the 95% who graduate, 100% go on to college.

For this special Day of Service, we look forward to sharing expertise in fund raising, possible sources for grants and donations, introductions to resources in the greater community, tutoring, sponsorship of scholarships, field trips, and all other ways we can help HANDY meet their goals and achieve success.

HANDY’s mission is to embrace, educate and empower vulnerable youth to become engaged, productive adults. We aim to expand the awareness and outreach of HANDY by providing our expertise in business and professional skills. This is a great way for you to give back to your community, connect with fellow All Ivy+ Alumni, and pass on your knowledge and expertise to a worthwhile nonprofit.

This video features Terran’ Uribe’s personal HANDY story. We found it cogent and compelling. Today, Terran is a FAU grad that has come full circle and now works for HANDY as a social worker. That’s the HANDY way!
