"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in Business and Entrepreneurship"
The presentation will be in-person and also broadcast on Zoom for those who cannot or prefer not to gather in-person.
Charo Uceda declares: The perfect business model is worth zilch, unless one is ready, willing and able to tweak it, modify it or simply discard it and replace it. The great majority of business people set their expectations in expanding and do so when business is doing well, but they never take the time to understand that expansion and contraction is an inevitable, recurring wave required to succeed in obtaining operations’ longevity.
In short, if you dare to be an entrepreneur, make sure you acquire and foster “strategy plasticity,” she concludes.
She has done it and she will share with you how.

About Charo Uceda
In 1988 Charo Uceda co-founded the Uceda Institute together with Juan J. Uceda and Doris Uceda, serving as its Chief Academic Director. Uceda English Institute/Uceda School comprises a chain of English as a Second Language (ESL) schools which are Accredited. At present, Uceda English Institute/ School has more than 25 locations, under different members-of-the-family’s ownership and administrations, throughout the United States, serving millions of students from all over the world.
In 2008, Uceda received a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics from Columbia University – Teachers College (TC). Understanding that today’s globalized world had imposed new demands and challenges on both teaching and learning, Uceda became a fervent supporter and a passionate proponent of the effective implementation of emergent technologies inside the classroom and beyond, in order to bridge gaps of distance and time and universally foster the development of skills and techniques leading towards autonomy in learning. As a result of her serious commitment to lifelong learning, in January of 2009 she was accepted into the Master’s Degree Program in Educational Technologies at Harvard University’s Extension School, graduating in May of 2012.
In late 2018, The Charo Uceda Women’s Empowerment Lecture Series was established to advance the conversation about issues impacting women in the areas of educational policy, nutrition and psychology. The goal of the series is to raise awareness, provide possible solutions to women’s challenges, and inspire action from students, alumni and faculty. National and international speakers, chosen by the provost and faculty members in consultation with Ms. Uceda, share their experiences about issues that promote and celebrate women’s achievements over adversity and overall empowerment. This Lecture Series was created in memory of her mother Ines Uceda and will be presented in perpetuity.
